Bear: For Amber

October 6, 2014

To Dearest Friend Amber,

I can not imagine what you and your family are feeling today. It is so hard to say goodbye to friends that are so faithful and are with you through everything. I can remember when my cat passed away and how horrible the feeling was, and how I felt like some people were just thinking of him like a pet, and why was I so upset. But Animals are not just pets, we don’t just feed them and in Bear’s case take them out to do their business.  They are friends, companions, and family. When we are sad they are there to remind us to just keep snuggling and petting them, and you will feel better. So I know this isn’t easy.

I apologize for the sad message to you. So I will attempt to cheer it up a bit. Bear was always such a sweet dog and I remember when Josh used to drop me off at your house early in the morning he was the first one to greet me, and at first I will admit he scared me. He was a bit of a big dog, and I was coming into your house on my own when it was still dark out. But Bear was always there to get me to pet him and give him whatever attention I may have had  in me at 5 in the morning. I will always remember his sarcastic grunts and groans and how he did such a good job expressing himself with “man noises” and the occasional rolling of the eyes.

I also will never forget the Cheerios photoshoot we did. I got close to 20 boxes of cheerios for my advertising shoot. And the subject started out as kids and babies. But by the end we let bear in and he was so so happy to help out. The biggest problem we had was getting him to look up. He just wanted to keep eating the Cheerios. I remember Dustin and Savannah throwing him Cheerios to try and get him to look up. It was so much fun. Thank you for that.

Thank you for sharing your family with me, and sharing bear with me and my family. He will be missed. But instead of goodbye I have always been a bigger fan of, I’ll see you later. I think we will. But until then here is his first go at being a professional Dog Cheerios Model.
